To Make A Difference?

The King of Pop has kicked the bucket. I cannot profess I am that much a fan of his, although I do like quite a number of his songs. Still, his death came as a shock to the world, although from his lifestyle, perhaps it would happen sooner or later. Okay, I am not here to judge since someone has died, and with death, all things should be forgiven (at least I hope so!).However, there is but a fine thin line between life and death. Christians believe that God created us, God gave us our lives, so when the time comes, God would take us back. We meet our Creator upon death. Whether we go to heaven or hell depends on how we lead our lives. Even for those who are not Christians or who have no religion whatsoever, it is still good to do as much good as you can and live our lives to the fullest.

Some people want to make as much money as they can in this lifetime. True, financial security is good. Materialism is good to a certain extent, but at the end, whatever riches and wealth we have accumulated cannot be taken with us upon death. With our busy lives, we often neglect the basic core of our existence - health, love and happiness. We often procrastinate until it is too late.

Imagine if one is on the dying bed, and flashes of his life go running through his head. He may wonder what he had done in this lifetime. He may be a millionaire, lived to be a centenarian, but there is no family or friends at his side. Then he wonders where can he leave his massive fortune to, who had he shared his happiness and sadness with all his life.

So it is up to each of us to make a difference. Do you want to live a long but lonely and desolate life, or do you want to live a short, yet enriching and fulfilling life? I think each of us has our own answers. :-)

Installing a Husband

I got this from a friend. Really cute and funny!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear Tech Support,
Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a distinct slow down in overall system performance, particularly in the flower and jewellery applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0.
In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5, and then installed undesirable programs such as NBA 5.0, NFL 3.0 and Golf Clubs 4.1.
Conversation 8.0 no longer runs, and Housecleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system.
Please note that I have tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail.
What can I do?
Signed,
Desperate.
DEAR DESPERATE,
First, keep in mind, Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package, while Husband 1.0 is an operating system.
Please enter command: ithoughtyoulovedme.html and try to download Tears 6.2 and do not forget to install the Guilt 3.0 update. If that application works as designed, Husband 1.0 should then automatically run the applications Jewellery 2.0 and Flowers 3.5.
However, remember, overuse of the above application can cause Husband 1.0 to default to Grumpy Silence 2.5, Happy Hour 7.0 or Beer 6.1. Please note that Beer 6.1 is a very bad program that will download the Farting and Snoring Loudly Beta.
Whatever you do, DO NOT under any circumstances install Mother-In-Law 1.0 (it runs a virus in the background that will eventually seize control of all your system resources.)
In addition, please do not attempt to reinstall the Boyfriend 5.0-program. These are unsupported applications and will crash Husband 1.0.
In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly. You might consider buying additional software to improve memory and performance. We recommend Cooking 3.0 and Hot Lingerie 7.7.
Good Luck Babe!
Amendment 48 is Anti-Life (why it matters that a fertilized egg is not a person)
June 2, 2008, the Denver Post Editorial Board
Fertile Ground for a Legal Mess
A proposed amendment to the Colorado state constitution that would define a human egg as a “person” from the moment of fertilization would go far beyond its intended purpose of outlawing practically all abortions.
Philosophers may debate when human life begins, but scientists are unanimous on the subject of when pregnancy begins: it’s when a fertilized egg is implanted in the uterus.
But the proposed Amendment 48 specifies that the egg be considered a “person” in the eyes of the law even before it is implanted in the uterus. That means, effectively, that those forms of birth control that prevent such implantation would be classified as homicide under the proposal.
Even without the use of drugs, many eggs just naturally fail to implant in the uterus. Likewise, many eggs are implanted only to result in a miscarriage in the early days or weeks of pregnancy — often before the woman is even aware she is pregnant. Should a woman who suffers a miscarriage be charged with negligent homicide because she failed to protect a fertilized egg she may not have even known she carried? Should a man who fertilized an egg be entitled to file a civil lawsuit against a woman who miscarries, charging her with the wrongful death of his week-old fertilized egg?
Unfortunately, none of these possibilities is far-fetched. They would be the almost certain results of the mischievous interaction of the proposed Colorado constitutional amendment with the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
If a fertilized egg is a person, just what are that egg’s rights under Colorado law? The question is anything but hypothetical, because the entire abortion debate that culminated in the U.S. Supreme Court’s 1973 Roe v. Wade decision rests upon that language in the 14th Amendment. If the fetus is a person under the law, its life cannot be taken without due process, which means states can outlaw abortion at any stage of pregnancy.
Roe v. Wade answered that question by defining a fetus as a person only in the third trimester of a pregnancy, during which it could conceivably live independently outside of the womb. Thus, under Roe v. Wade, abortions can be banned in the third trimester, as long as exceptions are made for the life or health of the other “person” in the equation, the mother.
But by pushing the definition of “personhood” to fertilization, the proposed Colorado amendment creates an absurd and unworkable maze. What about women who have difficulty conceiving and try in vitro fertilization. Typically, a number of fertilized embryos are created and frozen. Once pregnancy occurs, the superfluous embryos are often discarded. But under the Colorado “eggs are people” law, that would be murder.
Amendment 48 goes far beyond banning abortion and many forms of birth control. It is legal mischief and should be solidly rejected by the voters in November.
One of my Favorite words
Go placidly amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant, they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit.
    If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
    Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let not this blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass. Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
    Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
    Therefore, be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be. And whatever your labors and aspirations in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams; it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful.
    Strive to be happy.
Hawaiian Wedding
We attended a friend’s wedding yesterday, the groom is our friend and originally from Hawaii  so the wedding theme is kinda Hawaiian tradition. Men had to wear Hawaiian shirt and a black color necklace called Kukui lei were given to all guests.  In Hawaii a lei is given as a symbol of love, respect and appreciation for all kinds of celebration.  Alohaz_2013_4405328 The Kukui is the state tree of Hawaii and ancient Hawaiian times were only give to people of great importance since they were very sacred. It’s such an honor to have this kind of necklace. The bride and groom had both fresh garland of purple/white dendrodium orchids strung together and worn around the neck. They also had that kind of ceremony called Sand (instead of candle) Unity Ceremony, symbolize the joining of the bride and groom or the joining of their families.  The ceremony was supposedly held at the Garden of the God’s Park, unfortunately the weather didn’t seem to cooperate so it ended up an indoor wedding. It was a nice and interesting wedding. There was a live band and musicians were playing light Hawaiian music, it was really cool and it served as a pleasant background while guests were passing through the receiving line, socializing during the cocktail hour, and dinner. The couple’s names in the Hawaiian language were engraved onto their wedding cakes. Modern Hawaiian cuisine was served at the reception, I was surprised when the groom told us that Hawaiian cuisine is a fusion of many cuisines brought by multi-ethnic immigrants to the Hawaii islands, particularly of American, Chinese, Filipino, Japanese, Korean, Polynesian and Portuguese origins.
It was such a pleasant and remarkable experience to witness a unique kind of wedding. It’s the added touch of Hawaiian culture that puts the spice in it and makes it different from the rest. Though the traditions may be different, though the customs may vary, no matter where you go the tradition of the marriage remains true.  It is the joyful joining to two lives, celebrated the world over for the miracle that it truly is. ALOHA!(which means love)
How is my marriage going?
Time really flies. We just celebrate our second anniversary, my husband and I have been married two years now, I must admit these 2 yrs ain’t smooth sailing but I am glad we “survived” hehehe. There are going to be fights especially in the first year it takes some adjusting to have someone else to consider. You both have to get use to each others quirks and habits. There are good and bad times, disagreements and misunderstandings, but it takes two to make a relationship work. It’s not easy either it takes hard work. Both need to sacrifice things to make the other happy. Marriage is real, and it is tough. It requires more than just love. You have to play fair and fight fair while communicating and respecting the other person. It’s not just about living happily ever after, it’s about living together as team. As long as you act like adults and work as a team, anything can be accomplished. We women have mood swings that we can’t always control. We feel things that we don’t understand. And we do things that don’t make any sense at all. But I’ve noticed that if we are taken seriously, but with a spoonful of sugar, it calms us down.  And try not to go to bed mad at each other and not bring up past arguments, these are big NO-NO’s in our marriage. Peace….
Gossips…
Sticks and stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me. Not true! Words can cause tremendous anguish and irreparable harm. When we speak badly about someone, the damage spreads and has far-reaching repercussions. It is impossible to fully repair. Words are powerful. They can tear apart relationships and ruin reputations or they can build and inspire. Just about everyone gossips, eager to share and listen to the latest dirt. Why? What’s the allure? Why do we love so much to talk especially bad things about other people? I just find it so annoying. I’m really tired of this crap to the point that I dont want to mingle with my own Filipino groups here . It’s better to think twice about the kind of people whom you associate with or should I say it’s better not to associate with anyone rather than associate with the wrong crowd. I love my Filipino culture but if there is one part of it I really want to crush is this tendency to mess with other people’s business. Don’t we have nothing better to do? I know some people love to gossip because they think they can only feel good about themselves by putting down others or maybe either out of jealousy and boredom, or ones own lack of self confidence or self-esteem, or insecure like a bully. Why focus only on other people’s faults and ignore the good things in them? Dont we realize that at the end we lower ourselves, like flies drawn to dirt? Next time we’re tempted to focus on the negative in someone, take a good long look at ourselves while seeing the good in others.
Buy American Gas
Are you aware that the Saudis are boycotting American products? In addition, they are gouging us on oil prices. Shouldn’t we return the favor? Can’t we take control of our own destiny and let these giant oil importers know who REALLY generates their profits, their livings? How about leaving American Dollars in America and reduce the import/export deficit?
An appealing remedy might be to boycott their GAS. Every time you fill up your car you can avoid putting more money into the coffers of Saudi Arabia . Just purchase gas from companies that don’t import their oil from the Saudis.
Nothing is more frustrating than the feeling that every time I fill up my tank, I’m sending my money to people who I get the impression want me, my family and my friends dead . The following gas companies import Middle Eastern oil:
Shell - 205,742,000 barrels
Chevron/Texaco - 144,332,000 barrels
Exxon /Mobil - 130,082,000 barrels
Marathon/Speedway -117,740,000 barrels
Amoco - 62,231,000 barrels
And CITGO oil is imported from Venezuela by Dictator Hugo Chavez who hates America and openly avows our economic destruction! (We pay Chavez’s regime nearly $10 Billion per year in oil revenues!)
The U.S. currently imports 5,517,000 barrels of crude oil per day from OPEC. If you do the math at $100 per barrel, that’s over $550 million PER DAY ($200 BILLION per year!) handed over to OPEC, many of whose members are our confirmed enemies!!!!! It won’t stop here - oil prices could go to $200 a barrel or higher if we keep buying their product.
Here are some large companies that do not import Middle Eastern oil:
Sunoco - 0 barrels
Conoco - 0 barrels
Sinclair - 0 barrels
BP / Phillips - 0 barrels
Hess - 0 barrels
ARC0 - 0 barrels
Maverick - 0 barrels
Flying J. - 0 barrels
Valero - 0 barrels
Murphy Oil USA * - 0 Sold at
Wal-Mart , gas is from South Arkansas and fully USA owned and produced.
  • *Not only that but they give scholarships to all children in their town who finish high school and are legal US citizens..
All of this information is available from the U.S. Department of Energy and each company is required to state where they get their oil and how much they are importing.
The Eyes are Windows into One’s Soul
MAT 6:22-23 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great [is] that darkness.
I believe eyes are windows to the soul. You can read a lot in someone eyes. They reflect many things, we can see happiness, sadness, anger, depression, love, pain, fear, grief, hatred, paranoia…etc. When you ask a person a question and they don’t look you in the eye, they fidget and get very nervous, means they have something to hide. You can give a hint of their personality by looking at their eyes and profiling them on how they act, where they look and do they keep open eye or half masked. Are they alert or angry? Our eyes help us make our facial expressions.
Can eyes lie? I don’t think so, but if one wants to see something that is not there, they will. And yet, the truth of the inner being is there, ever present to behold, in their eyes. I think eyes can tell a lot. Might not tell the full story but can get an idea of how this person is and whether they give you the creeps or not too.
"Judge not, that ye be not judged" a verse from old scriptures- for others to judge me, as I judge them, means I carefully analyze their intentions. If they mean harm, or care less, then I pass them by, if possible. I won’t judge them, for I don’t wish judgment upon myself. If someone intentionally hurts me, I pass them by. I am not their Judge and Jury, and they are not mine.
